Hey guys! For the next few #myspacemondays weekly post-I’m going to be sharing all my wedding details with you. It’s been a little over a year since our wedding and after sharing our honeymoon details in the recent blog post (Pa-Pa-Paradise in Maldives) it seems only natural to share the entire wedding experience with all of you.
Today, I’m starting with our Picnic Inspired Save The Date photoshoot!
After pinning through a million ideas on Pinterest, I fell in love with this one (below) and knew I wanted to create something similar for our own Save The Date. Moreover, being in California and making use of all those beautiful parks and sunny weather seemed like a perfect way to make this happen!

After figuring the look I wanted, it was time to find the right photographer who would make this happen for us and after speaking to a few people, we found Meghan Macaskill Photography. On my very first conversation with her, I knew she was the one who could pull this look for us. She was so responsive to all my emails (I was planning all this while I was still in the UK!!)and we’re so glad we went with her because she did an AMMMAAAZINGGGG job!!! I mean, look at that beautiful photo.

More than her just being an amazing photographer, she was really helpful and fun to work with. And, the entire thing was so stress-free for us because she picked the perfect location, she figured the exact time for the ‘right kinda lighting’ and styled our entire shoot for us. We honestly couldn’t have had such a beautiful shoot without her.

Although, we had help with our set-up. Recreating this look is extremely easy. The most important thing is to find a quiet park/location. We drove to the outskirts of the city in a quiet park in Los Gatos. With no by-standers or public around, it allowed us to be completely conscious-free and just really have fun with our shoot!

Creating this look doesn’t have to be expensive, it’s actually almost free! The venue is free and most of the props you can pick out of your own home. All it takes is a little time to set up but the results are totally worth it!
Props: Choose bright paper lanterns from any craft store and hang them over a low tree branch, some vintage suitcases, vases filled with bright flowers, vintage cycles (optional), a light colored rug, throw pillows, cake stand filled with muffins/cupcakes, wine bottle and glasses, box of pizza and some fruits to complete the look. We created our save the date using a burlap banner and hand-cut the numbers and heart shape with paper and glued them on the banner. Alternatively, you could use chalk-board signs, balloons with your wedding date or whatever else you fancy. Anything would work in such a beautiful setting!

I hope you all enjoyed looking at our save the date photoshoot. We are so glad that we had an amazing photographer and stylist to create a memory that will last a lifetime for us. I hope you can gain some inspiration out of these pictures and ideas and use it to recreate something for yourself!
Venue: Worcester Park – 175 El Nido Ave Los Gatos, CA 95030 (We had our shoot at 6pm in July for the perfect sunset lighting)
