Hello Spring!

Hey All! So, I know it’s been a while since I last blogged but that’s because I have been pretty busy trying to settle into California life and our new home. I am also miserable with this damp, foggy weather (I swear I left the UK thinking I would never have to deal with rain again-how wrong I was!) However, I am seriously hoping this is the last of the dull weather and we get some sunshine soon.

Spring is a time of change, of bloom and of letting go the winter darkness. Adding simple pops of colours through pillows, rugs, cutlery, sweet smelling candles and flowers can truly enhance any space! In anticipation of warmer weather;  I have listed my favourite and easiest decor trends via Pinterest that I hope will inspire you for a quick spring remake in your own home.

Front Porch

Simply by adding a beautiful wreath, some blooming plants and a vibrant door mat you can transform your front entrance from unwelcoming to bright and beautiful. It’s easy to find beautiful flowers at this time of the year in grocery stores, nurseries and many outlet garden centres even have discounts on plants so always keep an eye for deals! Here are my favourite front entrance decor ideas via Pinterest

Easy Front Porch from Ask Anna
Vibrant Spring Door from Southern Living

Setting up a well decorated table has to be the easiest and quickest way when decorating your home for Spring. This is even more effective when you want to host friends and family without spending too much money on decor. Check out these beautiful and easy to replicate tablescapes from Pinterest.

Throw Pillows

When looking through luxury interiors or home decor magazines I often find myself getting annoyed at the way their couches or bedroom are decorated with throw pillows. Let’s be real, the couch is to sit on and the bed to sleep on and not to be used as a display for all colours, shapes and sizes of throw pillows! However, when used creatively and practically throw pillows are the easiest and the most budget friendly option to add seasonal decor to any home. I would advice on choosing throw pillow cases instead of throw pillows since storage is so much easier and you can re-use the inserts each time. Below, I have listed my favourite stores for affordable, beautiful spring themed pillow cases.

PS: Tip 1- With so different designs to choose from, it can get tricky to select the perfect throw pillow for your home. The best way is to decide on a colour scheme based on the colour of your sofa, bedroom or living room and then narrow down your options accordingly.

TIP 2-  Don’t overwhelm your home with only floral prints or geometric prints. Mix and match different styles and don’t be afraid to add contrasting and solid colours into play.

Finally, my favourite way of bringing Spring indoors is through flowers. Flowers smell amazing and with all the different colours available at this time of the year, they are sure to brighten any home. Here are some links to inspire you to take on floral arrangement and add flowers to every corner of your home.
